Iowa Juneteenth Education Forum

2010 Educational Excellence Awards

We will present our prestigious 2010 Mary McCleod Bethune Award to an individual selected by the Iowa Juneteenth Observance as an educator who performed in a diligent manner to reach out to disadvantaged youth and helped bring about outstanding results in their academic development. Past recipients include Dr. George A. Jackson, Dr. Daniel C. Robinson, and Marlene Doby.

We will also be presenting our Rising Tide Award to two middle school students who have demonstrated academic excellence. Past recipients include Denise Cowheard, Shykel Parrish, Rebecca A. Cook, and Salat Jones.
